Europe has a packaging framework. Now it needs the certainty to make it work. 💪 TOMRA is proud to support a joint industry letter calling for the timely and effective implementation of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The PPWR gives Europe something the packaging value chain has needed for a long time: a harmonised framework, clearer rules and a stronger basis for investment in recycling and circular business models. Now the focus should be on implementation. That means clear, robust and evidence-based secondary legislation. It means working closely with industry and technical experts. And it means keeping the agreed framework on track, without slowing down the progress Europe has already made. This is especially important now, as European industry faces pressure from energy costs, raw materials, global trade measures and geopolitical uncertainty. Circularity needs ambition. But it also needs confidence. With more than 120 signatories, this joint call sends a clear message: keep the #PPWR moving, make it practical, and give the circular economy the certainty it needs to grow.
