June 8 is World Ocean Day. How can we ensure plastic packaging is both recycled and kept out of our oceans? Returning used bottles to TOMRA reverse vending machines for recycling keeps used containers separate from other waste. This avoids contamination and allows the container to remain pure and of high quality, allowing for the material to be turned into another plastic bottle. We call this continuous cycle of bottle-to-bottle recycling “Clean Loop Recycling” and aim to bring and keep as many beverage containers as possible out of nature and in a closed loop. ♻
