If you've watched any television over the last few days, or read any social media, you've probably heard Bonnie Tyler has passed away. Born Gaynor Hopkins on June 8, 1951 in Skewen, Neath, Wales, the artist we know as Bonnie Tyler passed away last week at the age of 75. She had such a powerful voice, a perfect partner for song writer Jim Steinman who is know for writing songs for another artist with a powerful voice, Meatloaf, aka Marvin Lee Aday. Her songs bring back such powerful memories of the 1980s for me. I am sad for her passing, but I'm also sad that in all the stories of her passing I did not hear anyone mention Jim Steinman. Jim Steinman wrote Tyler's biggest hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart", which sold over 13 million copies worldwide and was released as the lead single from her UK chart-topping album Faster Than the Speed of Night (1983).
