It’s a rare thing to change the New York City skyline—even for just a few days. Maybe even as rare as getting to say we won a Gold Lion!!! What makes this feel extra special, though, is that at no point during the year(!) that Thanh Ly and I worked on this campaign, did the word “award” ever come up. What an honor it is to be recognized by the industry and be able to say it now. Like always, we sought to create a campaign that doesn’t just break through the doors of jury rooms—but into culture, feeds, and conversations. You know, the ones that exist outside our world of advertising. A campaign people could taste at John’s of Bleecker Street. Could cheer for along with the NY Mets. A campaign that—unless people saw the 270-ft. dragon with their own eyes—they would still think was A.I. It’s rewarding to say we achieved it. Of course, this campaign wouldn’t exist without our extraordinarily brave clients at HBO and a whole army of dragon slayers at Giant Spoon Thanh Ly Monica Herman Ian Grody Eric Zhou Victoria Sobel Dani Skollar Alyssa Segel, MA Gabby Finkel Margaret Morici Schmidt Hali Goodman Katz Bita Roofeh Holly Stair Mike Elenterio Jason Lau Nina Chu But I guess when you’re lucky enough to work with such rarely talented people, maybe the work that follows isn’t so rare after all. 🐉 🔥 🦁
