Harrods just handed its CIO the keys to all of operations. Andreas Efstathiou steps up as COO in September, unifying supply chain, facilities, engineering and security under one leader for the first time in the business's history. The timing matters. Mark Blundell in as Chief Retail Officer. Sarah Myler leading Brand & Reputation. Geoff Weaver through the door as CFO in 2025. Now a unified COO. This isn't a succession plan. It's a rebuild at the top. Harrods is assembling a leadership structure built for pace, not prestige. The MEC expansion, the unified ops brief, the CIO-to-COO move, all of it points in the same direction. The next phase of Harrods isn't just about being the world's most famous department store. It's about being the world's most operationally excellent one.
