The momentum of #AI in #radiology is gaining significant traction across Europe, unlocking immense opportunities in clinical routine! Currently, many AI deployments operate primarily as linear input/output processes. This straightforward approach serves as an excellent starting point for an AI journey, allowing stakeholders to build confidence in this technology and its potential to improve clinical outcomes. Looking ahead, Foundational Models give the opportunity to elevate the synergy between human expertise and AI in clinical settings. However, realising this potential requires a deeper understanding of associated risks and a pragmatic benefit/risk analysis at the organisational level. In this well-balanced review article, Tugba Akinci D'Antonoli, Christian Bluethgen, Renato Cuocolo, Michail Klontzas, MD, PhD, Andrea Ponsiglione and Burak Koçak highlight the potential but also the risks of Foundational Models as a more holistic approach to #AI deployment. https://lnkd.in/de5a7PNz
