Parkie In The Wild was created by Ellen Stadler, a math professor, Parkinson’s advocate, and person living with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD), along with her husband, John Painter. Diagnosed in 2017 at age 46, Ellen has spent the past several years navigating Parkinson’s while continuing to teach, advocate, participate in clinical trials, and find joy in everyday life. Using humor, puppets, and real-life experiences, Parkie In The Wild offers an honest look at living with Parkinson’s from both the patient and caregiver perspectives. Through the characters of Ellie and her husband puppet, the channel tackles everything from symptoms and treatments to family life, relationships, and the unexpected moments that make life with Parkinson’s both challenging and surprisingly funny. The mission of Parkie In The Wild is to educate, encourage, and help people affected by Parkinson’s feel seen, understood, and less alone. Whether you're living with Parkinson’s, caring for someone who is, or simply want to learn more, you'll find information, inspiration, and plenty of laughter along the way.
