MPhys, Physics Student at Durham University
Two weeks ago, I had the privilege to return to my former school, The King's (The Cathedral) School, to give a talk on cosmology to A-level Physics students. It was very rewarding to share to the students concepts that they will cover later in the A-level course, like the expansion of the universe, Hubble’s law, and dark matter, and give insight into my 3rd year cosmology studies, showing how these ideas can be explored further at a university level. What particularly stood out from this experience was the engagement and curiosity of the students, asking complex questions on the topic (a few even I struggled to answer) which reminded me why I myself became interested in physics in the first place. A massive thank you to Marie White for inviting me back to the school, I look forward to returning again sometime soon to share more of my university physics experiences.
