As part of a weeklong reporting trip in Los Angeles, Noticias Telemundo anchor Julio Vaqueiro stopped by to speak with students at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and shared his experience as a Latino journalist in broadcast television as well as his advice on how to approach the issues that diverse audiences care about most. He also sat with the student team which runs 'Dímelo,' Annenberg Media and USC's student-run media outlet serving young Latinx audiences in English and Spanish. USC Annenberg faculty recently approved a Latinx Media minor that will feature classes in Spanish-language news production, social media storytelling for Latinx audiences, experiential journalism in Latin America, and Latinos in the news media.
