An ex-colleague recently shared an interesting article by Harvard Business Review about leadership. Another set of leadership lessons from an executive coach’s experience highlighting how well-meaning managers can sometimes end up hurting their teams in the long term. It resonated with me because of how commonly I have observed these traits in managers. A personal favourite that the paper points out is about over protecting the team —”Managers should be careful about excessively moralising your job and seeing yourself as a hero to your staff.” I think it's important to strike a balance. Be supportive but also let our teams learn by experiencing real challenges and feedback. Their growth depends on the nuances they face in every challenge and the way they navigate through it. https://lnkd.in/gscfbAmw #LeadershipInsights #ManagementTips #TeamEmpowerment
