“Engagez-vous, intéressez-vous et voyez grand.” This simple message from Ilyan Berradi, a young Moroccan leader and co‑founder of TFT MOROCCO 🇲🇦, sets the pitch for Episode 7 of African Sparks, where he talks about UM6P in Benguerir as a place that feels deeply Moroccan in its art and culture, yet vibrantly modern and open to the world. He shares how digital platforms have become the natural space where young Moroccans and members of the diaspora express themselves, connect, and tell “the story of today’s and tomorrow’s Morocco” in their own words. Drawing on his own journey and Morocco’s recent moments of pride that is from football successes to the recognition of Moroccans abroad, Ilyan describes the diaspora as a kind of “free electron,” which means that people are rooted in more than one place, able to build bridges, carry ideas, and support their country whenever and wherever they are needed. His invitation to the new generation is warm but direct in the sense that Morocco is a country of real challenges, and it needs the energy, curiosity, and ambition of its youth inside the country and across the world to turn those challenges into shared opportunities.
