As the year comes to an end, I did some reflecting and realized 2025 was a huge year for growth, change, and accomplishments! One of them notably being the completion of my BComm with distinction from the Haskayne School of Business When I first started this journey, I didn’t know what to expect. Maybe I’d graduate “right on time” in four years or maybe I’d take longer and collect internships like they were infinity stones. All I knew was I had to make the most of my experience here and my ultimate goal (aside from graduating of course) was to finish my BComm with zero regrets. After 40 courses, 5 years, 2 internships, and an international exchange semester, I have proudly received my degree with zero regrets! Although it’s just a piece of paper, my degree doesn’t simply represent the completion of 40 courses. Rather its a reminder of the growth and the person I became. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone, made me a more well-rounded person, and gave me all the tools I needed to accomplish big things in life. I went from being anxiety-ridden in groups of 5+ to truly enjoying networking events and meeting new people. I went from sticking to things I knew to challenging myself by exploring different industries and careers. And I went from only focusing on school to getting involved in the Calgary local business community through my marketing work with Bakfann. One of my biggest fears I tackled this year was going on exchange. It was always something I was interested in throughout my undergrad but I was always just too scared to do it. Knowing I wanted to graduate with zero regrets, I postponed my graduation and went on a summer exchange at Nanyang Technological University Singapore (thank you to my past self for being brave enough to do this!). This easily became a highlight of my undergrad. I successfully got to my hotel by myself after 26 hours in the air, met the most amazing people who I would be lucky enough to explore Singapore with and call my friends, experienced the joy of $4 chicken rice, saw the Singapore 60th anniversary fireworks in front of MBS, and checked of Changi Airport from my bucket list (I’m a nerd when it comes to airports and planes). This post is getting a little long now but I wanted to wrap up and say thank you to Haskayne School of Business and the Haskayne Exchange team for providing me with endless opportunities and for shaping me into who I am today. And thank you to everyone who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and being able to call my friends in Calgary, in Singapore, and anywhere else! Here’s to an amazing 2026! 🍾🥂
