Happens every holiday ππ One of the most important yet misunderstood roles? Creative Strategy. Creative strategists are simultaneously one of the most in demand and least understood roles in marketing today. Why? Last year, advertisers spent over $160 billion on Meta ads. Meta's AI systems have quietly removed most of the technical complexity from media buying. The targeting, the bidding, the placement optimization, the algorithm handles it. What it cannot do is make a great ad. THAT gap between what the platform can optimize and what it needs to optimize in the first place, is exactly where the creative strategist lives. So... What does the role entail? A creative strategy role combines analytical thinking, consumer psychology, and production fluency in a way that almost no other advertising job does. A strong creative strategist can read performance data and know why an ad worked, translate that into a brief, oversee production, and ship the next test before a traditional team has finished the debrief. The top performers are producing the output of two or three person teams using AI enabled workflows that did not exist eighteen months ago. It is the one role in advertising that AI is actively making more valuable rather than replacing. Brands are trying to hire to fill this gap. But demand has outpaced supply significantly. That's why salaries are running between $100K and $150K+ on average. And now B2B companies, consumer apps, gaming studios, and AI startups are all catching up to what performance marketing figured out first. Not convinced on the demand? 90,000 people registered for the first cohort of our free Motion @Creative Strategy Bootcamp. We're going to be running more cohorts in the future btw, so stay tuned!
