Operationalizing scientific knowledge is both challenging and essential. Science does not stop at publications. It enters new domains, where it ultimately affects people's decisions and livelihoods. Integrating the many practical constraints and societal implications that emerge along the way can be demanding, but it is also what makes this work particularly interesting. Our article and the update of the #PRIF represent one step in this journey, bringing scientifically grounded benchmarks and guidance for field managment by farmers and other land stewards.
