Helping B2B Leaders and Investors Make Smarter Market Decisions. Consulting-Driven Research: From Analysis to Access.
Is German Automotive finally waking up? And helping fix our energy problem through V2G? Yesterday, something happened that many didn’t expect: Germany just removed the law that blocked V2G adoption for years. Bidirectional Charging – the idea that electric cars can store energy and give it back when the grid needs it – has been gaining momentum across Europe. 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝟭𝟱𝟬+ 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 - 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲! OEMs, energy providers and policymakers all see the same thing: Millions of EVs aren’t just cars. They’re a distributed energy network. => A stabilizer. => A buffer. => A revenue stream. => A real piece of the energy transition. But in Germany, one thing held it back: ❌ Double taxation EV owners paid taxes when charging and when feeding electricity back into the grid. Yesterday, the Bundestag finally ended this. No more double taxation. No network fees. No electricity taxes on V2G energy. And suddenly the numbers get interesting: Up to 500€ per year per vehicle by 2030. Not bad for energy you weren’t using anyway. So what do you think? Gamechanger or not?
