Back in 2018, while serving as the Infra Country Manager for AWS Brazil, I partnered with Ana Carolina da Motta (one of the best!!) to kick off a critical conversation with the Brazilian government. Months later we had an initial draft of a Data Center Bill to provide tariff exemptions for data center imports, a vital step toward enhancing the region's competitiveness. Yesterday, this bill—known as ReData—has been officially signed by the Brazilian government! It's amazing to see this materialize. Thank you to the leaders and teams who carried this forward: Christopher Torto, Ricardo Alário Arantes, Serafim Abreu Junior, Eduardo Reigada, Alessandro Lombardi, Victor Arnaud and others for their tireless work in getting this across the finish line.
