From chemical reactions to engineering challenges, Little Scientists has spent the past 11 years helping young people across China explore science firsthand. We recently joined nearly 500 primary school students and almost 100 Thermo Fisher volunteers for Hope Project Thermo Fisher Science Day in partnership with the China Youth Development Foundation. Students investigated chemical reactions, built sound-controlled desk lamps and uncovered the science behind invisible writing, bringing scientific concepts to life through hands-on exploration. As the program enters its second decade, we are expanding its impact through a new STEM Teacher Training program. The initiative will provide training for 200 teachers and is expected to reach approximately 6,000 students in underserved rural communities, helping bring engaging science education to even more classrooms. “Scientific progress depends not only on technological breakthroughs, but also on generations of young innovators,” said Miguel Faustino, President of Thermo Fisher China. “Through continued investment, we hope to inspire more children to engage with and develop a passion for science in their everyday learning, contributing to the long-term development of scientific innovation talent in China.” By investing in both students and teachers, we are helping create more opportunities for scientific exploration and learning in communities across China and the world.
