Behind the doors of our new South San Francisco cryo-EM center, snapshots of proteins in motion can be captured, revealing details that can shape how new medicines are discovered. R&D World’s Brian Buntz recently toured the center with Thermo Fisher’s Melanie Adams-Cioaba, for a closer look at how cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) is helping drug developers study proteins in near-native states and explore challenging targets. The center gives pharma and biotech companies access to advanced cryo-EM technology, including a Krios G4 cryo-TEM, while allowing teams to collect their own data, control their workflows and stream data remotely. It builds on Thermo Fisher’s cryo-EM consortium in the UK, expanding support for researchers advancing structure-guided discovery. Thank you to Brian and R&D World for visiting and sharing how this work supports researchers developing the next generation of therapies. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gpgQYKJV
