What does a greener future look like? On Monday, London got a glimpse of it. π± At Camden Town Hall, over 850 students and jobseekers came together for our Green Futures Event, organised by The London Clean Air Initiative and supported by London Borough of Camden, Islington Council, and Westminster City Council. Throughout the day, 41 organisations β including the likes of Octopus Energy, Transport for London, Rensair and London Wildlife Trustβ met face-to-face with young people exploring what it means to build a career that protects the planet. β¨ In our workshops and talks, students learned about sustainable engineering, the importance of retrofitting, how to write better CVs, and asked the big questions about how to turn passion into purpose. And the impact? It was visible β quite literally (check out the sticker scale activity below!). πͺ« Before the event, only 43% of students could 'see themselves choosing a green job.' π After just a few hours, that number soared to 78%. πͺ« Before the event, participants rated their understanding of the skills needed to get a green job at an average of 3.5 out of 10.Β π After the event, that score rose to 7.6 out of 10. The students moved from feeling largely uncertain about green job skills to feeling knowledgeable, capable, and ready to take action toward sustainable career pathways. They remind us that when we give young people the right access, they can see themselves doing anything - including shaping the sustainable future we all need. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us β our speakers, partners, and the hundreds of students and jobseekers who filled the hall with energy, curiosity, and possibility. π #GreenFuturesEvent #Sustainability #GreenJobs #FutureOfWork #NetZero #GreenSkills ARCHITECTURE 00 Allianz UK Generation UK & Ireland Veolia UK Hill Group UK Santander UK Fashion Technology Academy KX Recruit Canal & River Trust Marlborough Highways London Square GetZero Bauder Flat Roofs CBRE UK United Colleges Group Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Troup Bywaters + Anders FairHeat Lime Capital City College Enterprise Mobility Groundwork Heath Hands Cundall Mott MacDonald Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Solar Energy UK Greater London Authority Energy Saving Trust
