JP Morgan Chase is denying viral claims put forth in a now retracted lawsuit by a former employee. The NY Post identified the employee as Chirayu Rana. The plaintiff claimed his supervisor, a female executive, abused and assaulted him. But an internal JPMorgan investigation found no evidence of this. “We don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims,” a JP Morgan Chase spokesperson said. “While numerous employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and has declined to provide facts that would be central to support his allegations.” The employee claimed the executive invited him out for drinks after he declined, drugged him with Viagra, and said, “I’m going to ruin you…never forget, I f***ing own you.” The suit claims she even arrived at his apartment, where he rejected her advances; insulted his wife; and threatened to cut his bonus. “Do you want a future at JP Morgan? It’s that simple. I don’t know why you’re fighting this,” the suit claims she said. The Post reported that Rana, a graduate of Rutgers and former basketball player, didn’t report to the named executive, meaning she had no role in deciding his bonus. “[She] categorically denies the allegations. She never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with this individual of any kind and has never even been to the location where the alleged sexual assault supposedly took place,” the female executive’s lawyers told The Post. In late 2024, Rana, 35, reportedly left JP Morgan (he has deleted his LinkedIn). In May 2025, he reportedly filed a formal complaint of race- and gender-based harassment with JP Morgan HR, and sought severance in the “millions,” the Post wrote. The lawsuit — since retracted for “corrections” — seeks compensation for lost earnings, emotional distress, and reputational harm. Rana currently works at investment firm Bregal Sagemount. “He has tarnished her with a complete fabrication,” a friend of the executive told The Post.
