Some days you wake up not fine, not healed, not thriving, just okay; just enough to get through the day without it costing everything. If that’s where you are right now, this is for you. Waking up is the first thing to do, find one thing you’re not dreading today; not something exciting, just something neutral, something that exists in your day that isn’t heavy; hold onto that. Have a glass of water, your body has been carrying all of this, too, and it needs something from you that you can actually give it right now. Find somewhere to sit; set a timer for three minutes, breathe in for four counts and out for six; If your mind wanders, that’s okay. No perfect meditation, no achieving anything; it's just three minutes of choosing yourself over the noise. Then open your journal and write one sentence. It doesn’t have to be profound; it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else; it just has to be honest.
