On Saturday an 18-year-old made his first World Cup appearance against Brazil. By the final whistle he was one of the most talked-about players of the opening round. Ayyoub Bouaddi did not just hold his own against Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes and Paqueta. He ran the midfield. He led Morocco for touches, completed 60 passes at 91 percent, and carried the ball forward more than anyone else in the side. At 18, on debut, against the five-time world champions. Then the part that matters from the business side of the game. His name was everywhere within the hour. Not in scouting notes, where it already was, but across timelines and group chats. The attention came first. Rumours of interest from Europe's biggest clubs followed. That order is the point. Visibility moves markets, not the other way round. But attention does not cash itself. It spikes, it fades, and most of it goes to waste. The value sits in what you do while the spotlight is on you. Turning the attention into commercial deals, and into transfer leverage, before the moment passes. Attention is the easy part. Harnessing it is the work. That is what we do. #FootballBusiness #PlayerRepresentation #TransferWindow #FootballScouting #SportsBusiness #WorldCup2026 #Football #TheDistinct
