π—‘π—˜π—ͺ π—₯π—˜π—£π—’π—₯𝗧 | 655 million people still live without electricity, and 2 billion people rely on polluting fuels for cooking. As energy security and affordability become increasingly urgent global priorities, the latest Tracking SDG 7: The Energy Progress Report shows that progress toward universal energy access is unevenβ€”and in some regions, slowing down. π—žπ—²π˜† π—³π—Άπ—»π—±π—Άπ—»π—΄π˜€: ➑️ Global electricity access has stalled at 92% ➑️ More than 560 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa still lack electricity ➑️ Renewable energy now accounts for over 30% of global electricity consumption ➑️ Clean energy financing for developing countries reached $24.6 billion in 2024β€”but remains far below what is needed ➑️ Without accelerated action, the world will fall short of achieving SDG 7 by 2030 To close the gap, countries and partners must scale up investment in renewable energy, expand affordable access solutions such as mini-grids and off-grid solar, strengthen energy efficiency, and ensure financing reaches the most vulnerable communities. Universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy is within reachβ€”but only with stronger political leadership, targeted policies, and sustained investment. Read the report and learn what's needed to accelerate progress toward SDG 7. https://lnkd.in/e5irNmz2
