The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season is barely underway, and the Gulf Coast is already experiencing the impacts of a developing tropical system. The greatest impacts are expected across Texas and Louisiana, where heavy rainfall, flash flooding, storm surge, and isolated tornadoes are possible. Forecasters are also monitoring the potential for significant rainfall and flooding farther inland as the system tracks north, bringing impacts into portions of Mississippi, Arkansas, and beyond. Some areas could see rainfall totals measured in inches, not fractions of inches. While this system is not expected to be a major hurricane, it serves as an important reminder that organizations do not need a Category 4 or Category 5 storm to experience significant impacts. Flooding, power outages, facility damage, operational disruptions, and costly recovery efforts can result from storms of any size. By now, organizations should have emergency plans, continuity strategies, procurement procedures, and documentation processes in place. Preparedness is not something that begins when a storm enters the forecast. It begins long before the first named storm of the season arrives. At the Sulzer Group, we help organizations prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters of every size. Time and again, we have seen that the most successful recoveries start with preparation. As communities across the Gulf South monitor this developing system, now is the time to review plans, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure your organization is ready for whatever this hurricane season may bring. Preparation. Response. Recovery. 866.767.9869 www.sulzergroup.com #HurricaneSeason2026 #GulfSouth #Texas #Louisiana #Arkansas #Flooding #EmergencyManagement #DisasterRecovery #BusinessContinuity #Preparedness #RiskManagement #Resilience #FEMA #PublicAssistance #TheSulzerGroup
