Harvard Business Review has recognized BBVA as a global reference for corporate AI adoption. While many organizations are still debating how to control artificial intelligence, BBVA has spent the past two years developing an enterprise-wide AI adoption model. Today, all employees have access to generative AI tools, with more than half using them on a weekly basis. Rather than restricting access, the bank implemented governance frameworks from the outset, completing legal, risk, and GDPR compliance processes in a short timeframe and securing enterprise agreements with major technology providers. At the same time, 250 senior leaders — including the CEO and Chair — were trained to actively lead the transformation, while employees across the organization were empowered to develop AI use cases aligned with their areas of expertise. The result is a model where AI is embedded into daily operations across the organization.
