Our top story: The PNP is finalizing its security preparations for the July 6 start of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte. It assured the public that there will be sufficient police security in the Senate during the trial. The PNP spokesman was asked if police personnel will also be deployed inside the Senate building. A week before the start of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, the Senate has begun allowing visitors to enter its premises. This was announced by Senate President Win Gatchalian. The Senate security had been placed on heightened alert since the first week of June. This came amid reports from the intelligence community of a “serious threat” against the chamber. Gatchalian said security measures will still be implemented, such as the inspection of vehicles at the entrances. The construction of the long-delayed Udalo Bridge will soon be completed. Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon inspected the project in Occidental Mindoro. He says the bridge is already 94 percent complete. The project is expected to cut travel time between Abra de Ilog and Puerto Galera by as much as 80 percent. The present travel time of about 10 hours will be cut to just one to two hours. The bridge is scheduled to be opened to all types of vehicles on July 15. Read more: https://tmt.ph/2374405 Ten foreigners were arrested in a crackdown on immigration violators in Siargao Island.
