On Saturday night, Saguenay’s polka-dotted duo Khn and Klek of Angine de Poitrine shut down downtown Montreal. The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal closed the gates to Place des Festivals, something they’ve only done maybe four times in history, because there was simply no more room. The last time they saw numbers like this, Stevie Wonder was on the stage in 2009. Six people went to the hospital from falls, intoxication, and heat stroke (standard major-event stuff in our books). « Montreal downtown shuts down to hear microtonal math-rock and alien dialects » was not on our bingo card for 2026. 🪩
