Last week, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan set out a bold ambition: to position London as a global capital for esports and build on the success of the city hosting a series of high profile events. 🎮 At Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, we’re proud to play a key role. The recent VALORANT Masters at Copper Box Arena brought this to life, with 32 teams competing over 13 days, 42,500 fans in-venue, and 203m global viewers (+16.9M pre-launch) a clear demonstration of delivering high-spec esports events at scale in a fantastic space! With the global esports market set to reach nearly $10bn by 2033, the Park already has the foundations in place: ▪️ Here East home to leading innovators like Sports Interactive (SI) ▪️ The College of Esports, Loughborough University London and University of Staffordshire London leading the way in research and development, and developing the next generation of talent ▪️ Copper Box Arena, delivering unforgettable live experiences like Valorant Masters As an innovation district, together we’re working on partnerships, skills and opportunities to drive the sector forward, and we’re only just getting started. #Esports #Innovation #CreativeIndustries #Gaming
