“Growing up in foster care, I could never have imagined the position I’d be in today – a qualified solicitor at the age of 24.” ✨ For most of her younger life, Bethany Taylor was judged on the contents of her file – today, she is a qualified solicitor, working at Eversheds Sutherland. Earlier this month, Bethany shared why she believes solicitor apprenticeships are the future of the profession, at a #TheLawSocietyxCityCentury event. ⚖️ Discover her story ⬇️ “Having grown up in care, I lived most of my younger life with people making assumptions about me based on what my file said rather than who I actually was. "And although my school life was always my priority, and I dreamt big, I never thought I could go on to achieve what I have. “I believe that solicitor apprenticeships are the future, as they help those just like me. "People who have so much to offer, but don’t have parents connections to open doors, or are overlooked because of where they came from, or don’t have endless work experience on their CVs. “I wouldn’t be where I am now without the solicitor apprenticeship. "Which is why the work that City Century do, in promoting solicitor apprenticeships for those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, is so important." Thank you for sharing your story, Bethany.👏 Find out about solicitor apprenticeships here: https://ow.ly/z1nL50QHI9T
