Our CEO, Victoria Parker, recently attended the Early Oral Language Symposium, co-hosted by our partner Queensland Kids Partnership and the State Library of Queensland. Bringing together the Queensland Early Oral Language Project (QEOLP) coalition, a community of friends, collaborators and advocates, the symposium focused on strengthening early oral language outcomes for children across Queensland. Attendees heard from leading Oxford child language expert Professor Cristina Mckean (Department of Education, University of Oxford) with thoughtful facilitation from Dr Grant Webb (Queensland Department of Education), Patricia Eadie (University of Melbourne) and Dr Hannah Stark (University of Melbourne). At The Lady Musgrave Trust, we know the early years matter. Research shows that strong oral language development is one of the most powerful protective factors against disadvantage, helping to shape educational, social and life outcomes for years to come. The symposium was a valuable reminder that when we invest in early oral language, we invest in stronger futures for children, families and communities. Thank you to everyone involved in creating such an engaging and inspiring event. We're proud to be part of this important work and look forward to continuing the conversation and collaboration ahead. #TheLadyMusgraveTrust #Partnerships #ChildrensEducation #EarlyOralLanguage
