A huge thank you to all of the students, staff and visitors who made our Year 12 Futures Festival 2026 such a successful and inspiring event. We are especially grateful to Anglia Ruskin University and Emma Hillier and Josh Reid for so kindly hosting us at their Peterborough Campus on day one, and for providing such a welcoming setting for a day focused on ambition, opportunity and the future. In a changing educational landscape, it is more important than ever for young people to understand that university is one valuable pathway, but not the only route to educational and professional success. Our our students were fortunate to hear from an impressive range of speakers representing different sectors, experiences and career journeys - most of them Petriburgians, or closely associated with our community, and staff from Anglia Ruskin University who generously gave their time. Tom Calver Mario Caruso Zack Treharne Megan Charlton Ellen Gregory BA Hons Raphael F. Jack Bradley Emily Brown Samantha Mcknight Dorothy Aladejobi Amy Wells Shân Barcroft Benjamin Hitchborn Roger Ashman Alison Sethna and our keynote speaker Joe Russell who joined us, back from Harvard University. If we haven't managed to tag you here, please do drop us a message so we can add you! Many shared not only their expertise, but also their commitment to their work, their approach to learning, and the life events that have shaped their success. It was particularly powerful to hear from so many former King’s students, whose own journeys began here and have since led to successful and impressive outcomes. Day two was based in school at King's and was focused on UCAS applications online, and preparing notes for reference writers. We were fortunate to be joined by Ben S. and Maddison Hobbs who came to share invaluable insights into their Apprenticeship pathways. More thanks to Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Peterborough City Council for their contribution to our Road Safety session, which we also managed to fit into the day! Our students are now on their way home, with a lot more information, even more careers research to do, and a strong foundation on which to build and grow an exciting career! The story only begins here! #sixthform #careers #journey #education
