Why Friendship Matters for Young Chimpanzees 🐵💚 At the Jane Goodall Institute’s Tchimpounga Sanctuary, a young chimpanzee named Aco has been carefully introduced to Kala, another orphaned chimpanzee. With guidance from JGI’s expert caregivers and veterinary teams, the two are already learning through play, exploration and companionship. Early socialisation is essential for young chimpanzees. These interactions help develop motor skills, communication, emotional regulation and the social bonds they would naturally form in the wild. Through a science-based rehabilitation approach, JGI ensures introductions happen at the right time and pace, giving chimpanzees like Aco and Kala the foundations they need to heal, grow and thrive 🤝🌱 Every friendship helps shape a brighter future 💫 You can help support chimpanzees like Aco and Kala by becoming a Chimp Guardian. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eRD9tr_e * The Jane Goodall Institute does not endorse handling, interaction or close proximity to chimpanzees or other wildlife.
