The Earliest Stages of Fibroids May Be Biologically Active Long Before They Are Clinically Visible Most conversations around fibroids begin at detection. But biologically, the process likely begins much earlier. Before structural growth becomes visible, there may already be: • Changes in inflammatory signaling • Alterations in extracellular matrix activity • Early immune system interactions • Shifts in tissue behavior over time These upstream biological changes are difficult to observe through traditional diagnostics. Yet they may play a critical role in future disease development. The Hope Project is focused on understanding this earlier phase not just the endpoint of disease, but the biological environment that precedes it. Because prevention depends on studying what happens before symptoms and imaging findings appear. If you believe women’s health research should start earlier.
