When the doors opened at Fruit Towers, Innocent Drinks’ London HQ, it marked a first visit to a corporate workplace for many of the students joining us from local schools. The vibrancy, energy and unmistakable innocent personality set the tone straight away – helped by an early sighting of the famous Banana phone. It was the perfect setting for our Boardroom to Classroom programme with Debate Mate and innocent drinks, bringing debate and negotiation to life. After a welcome from Hugo Van Mol, Maeve Devi Carroll, Rachel M., Nicki Garland and Joanna Powell, Nick Dawnay, Rob Hörter and Jessie Lancaster unpacked what great negotiation really looks like. Through hands‑on games and challenges, students grew in confidence and put their ideas into practice – culminating in a live, time‑pressured case that challenged each group to reach an agreement. The session reinforced that negotiation isn’t just a boardroom skill, it’s a life skill: building confidence, communication and commercial awareness. The final wrap-up? A very welcome combination of pizza and innocent smoothies. Huge thanks to Debate Mate and innocent drinks for a brilliant day. We were energised by the ambition of the students and reminded why investing early in commercial confidence really matters. Interested in supporting young people through negotiation?
