50,000 followers. We're not sure what took you so long! Eleven years ago, The Gap Partnership began regularly posting on LinkedIn. Our first post received four likes. Three were from TGP'ers and the fourth was almost certainly an accident. We carried on anyway. Two or three posts a week, every week for a decade, because we believed that negotiation is one of the most important yet also underdeveloped capabilities in business. If we kept sharing ideas that we believed were worth reading, the right people would eventually find us. More than 1,650 posts later, it seems they did. We've written about power, preparation, influence and the astonishing amount of value organisations leave on the table every day. We've published films, challenged conventional wisdom and occasionally said things that made a boardroom sit up a little straighter. Oh, and of course nowadays there are a fair few AI posts in the mix too. Reaching 50,000 followers isn't just a social media milestone for one company; it's evidence of something more interesting. It reflects a growing belief that negotiation matters and that commercial capability is a competitive advantage. That better outcomes are rarely accidental and that there is room for a voice that is expert, direct, occasionally provocative, sometimes witty (our marketing team do love a pun) - and tries hard to avoid jargon. Thank you for following, whether you've been with us for eleven years or eleven minutes, and for every like, comment or repost. And thanks to Megumi Adharisti for translating some of the last 12 months of stats and posts into a short film. Here's to the next 50,000. We'll do our best to keep making it worth your while. 🖤
