Video presentation of the Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection project by Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD). In 2024 it received the Apollo – The International Art Magazine Award as Digital Innovation of the Year. https://lnkd.in/dkh6PSQv After a decade of work at the Porzellansammlung (Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden), “The Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection” launched in early 2024. The nationally and internationally awarded digital platform presents about 9000 Chinese and Japanese ceramics from the collection of Augustus the Strong (1670–1730) and his son Augustus III (1696–1763). For the first time, these objects were identified, digitized and researched as part of an international project. Together with the inventories from the 18th century, this historical reference collection is now widely accessible to the public, thanks to the support of many generous institutions, in particular the Bei Shan Tang Foundation in Hong Kong and the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation. She has been the project leader of the “Dresden Porcelain Project”, the international research project on the East Asian royal porcelain holdings at the Porzellansammlung. There, she has managed the study, research and digital publication of the Royal Dresden Porcelain Collection by a team of more than 35 international senior and junior experts from Europe, China, Japan, Taiwan and the US. She has presented the collection and project at conferences in Europe and across East Asia.
