Back when an STI still felt like a rally car that’d been given just enough road manners to sneak onto public tarmac. The 2007 model had it all: a turbocharged boxer with a taste for revs, Subaru’s symmetrical AWD that laughed in the face of loose gravel, and a six-speed manual with throws as short as its fuse. Sure, 2007 wasn’t Subaru’s greatest year in the WRC standings, but the swollen arches, mailbox hood scoop, and ironing-board wing didn’t care.
