🩺 Can AI help predict treatment effectiveness for specific patients? For five years, the Turing-Roche partnership has explored one of healthcare's biggest challenges: why patients with the same disease can respond so differently to the same treatment. Together, researchers have advanced new approaches to understanding and predicting patient outcomes through data science and machine learning, including: ➡️ Defining the concept of "structured missingness" in healthcare data ➡️ Enhancing trust, fairness and explainability of predictive models ➡️ Combining medical imaging with other health data to better understand disease, including grading cancers and estimating survival risk ➡️ Creating a global research community spanning academia and industry The partnership has produced over 100 publications, ran more than 40 events for over 3,250 participants and created a community whose impact will continue long after this collaboration ends.
