It was a true honor to welcome Sébastien Martin, French Minister Delegate for Industry to the Minister of the Economy, Finance, and Industrial, Energy, and Digital Sovereignty, and Senator Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy and Authority delegated to Space and Aerospace Policies, to our Satellite Integration Center in Rome. Thales Alenia Space is proud to advance #Europe’s space capabilities across all space domains: telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation, defense, exploration, and science. As a long-standing industrial partner in flagship programs such as Galileo, Copernicus, and the upcoming IRIS² constellation, we are committed to translating Europe’s space ambitions towards tangible achievements. In addition, we actively engage in other various innovative projects with key players in the space ecosystem, including startups and SMEs. During the visit, our teams showcased our contributions to the IRIDE Earth observation constellation as well as the Galileo Second Generation satellites currently under development. We had also the opportunity to present the new all-digital Space Smart Factory as well as key features of Sicral 3 and the fourth COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation satellite. In the presence of Massimo C Comparini, Chairman of Thales Alenia Space Supervisory Board and Managing Director of Leonardo's Space Division; Giampiero Di Paolo, Deputy CEO of Thales Alenia Space and CEO of Thales Alenia Space in Italy and Nicolas CHANTRENNE, VP Public Affairs at Thales Alenia Space, this visit underscored the growing importance of cooperation within Europe between national institutions, European programs, and industrial partners like our company. Together, we have great potential to strengthen European sovereignty, foster cutting-edge research, and drive sustainable innovation. The long-standing and successful space cooperation between France 🇫🇷 and Italy 🇮🇹 is a cornerstone of this broader European collaboration. Major telecommunications programs such as SICRAL 2 and Athena-Fidus, in which Thales Alenia Space has played a key industrial role, stand as concrete examples of what can be achieved by leveraging the complementary space expertise of our two countries. Moreover, the #cooperation between the Italian and French sites of Thales Alenia Space, evident during today’s visit and deeply embedded in our company’s and in the Space Alliance DNA, reflects our commitment to contributing positively to the European space industry. We are dedicated to developing and accelerating the implementation of innovative space technologies that support a sustainable future on Earth and in space. #spaceforlife Thales ; Leonardo ; Leonardo Space ; Telespazio ; Agenzia Spaziale Italiana ; Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy; Anne-Marie DESCÔTES; Herve DERREY; #SpaceAlliance #Space #Industry #Sovereignty #France #Italy #Europe
