𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. 𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁. Meet Ben Henke, Owner and President of Intex Distributing Co. and a valued member of the TCATA Board of Directors. Ben’s connection to the textile care industry started early. In 1980, his father, Gerald Henke, founded Intex after buying out his employer in Austin, TX. As the company grew, Ben spent his summers working in the warehouse and joining his dad on the occasional sales call. 𝗜𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀: 𝗕𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗛𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁. After graduating from Texas A&M in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Accounting and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting, Ben began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen’s audit division in Dallas. Then came an unexpected turn. When Arthur Andersen ceased to exist following the fallout from the Enron debacle, Ben found himself looking for a new path. That path led him back to Intex, where he accepted a role as a service technician. And he’s been there ever since. From warehouse summers and sales calls with his dad to accounting, service work, ownership, and leadership, Ben brings a well-rounded perspective to the TCATA Board. Today, Ben and his wife Kim live in Richardson, TX, where they are raising their three children. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗕𝗲𝗻, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.
