Surgeons know retear risk often stems from poor enthesis healing. A new prospective cohort study out of Australia evaluated EnFix®—a 100% demineralized bone fiber (DBF) implant—placed at the tendon-bone interface during arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. 🧪 Study Highlights • Patients: 31 EnFix-augmented vs. 31 matched controls • Mean follow-up: 8 months • Outcomes measured: ROM, strength, PROMs, MRI, return to work / sport / hobby 📈 Key Results at 6 months • Return to work: • 83.9% in the EnFix group returned to work completely • vs. 54.8% in control group (p = 0.034) • Return to sport/hobby: • 83.9% complete return vs. 51.6% in control group (p = 0.016) • PROMs: • Significant improvements in ASES (p = 0.018) and VAS (p = 0.016) • MRI: • 100% healing in both groups • Greater tendon encroachment on bone in EnFix group—suggesting superior integration 💡 EnFix harnesses endogenous BMPs and mimics endochondral ossification—addressing biology at the interface, not just mechanics. 🦴 Real biologic repair. Real functional outcomes. 🔗 Learn more: www.tetrous.com Study courtesy of Dr. Ashish Gupta, (MBBS MSc FRACS FAOrthA, Sub specialist Shoulder Surgeon, Queensland Unit for Advanced Shoulder Research (QUASR), ARC - ITTC for JointBiomechanics, Faculty of Engineering | Queensland University of Technology, QUT Science & Engineering Centre (P Block), Gardens Point Campus@ashishgupta@akunah) and co-authors Aleksander Banic, Kristine Italia, Christopher Child, Jashint Maharaj, Sarah Whitehouse Bradley Patt Andy Carter John Bojanowski Lynn Braendle Melissa Kreider Kathleen Dailey David Palethorpe Andrew Kerr Andrew Macpherson Ian McRury Ph.D. PMP CSSBB Tito Liotta Mark Getelman William (Bill) Walsh Kenneth Cutbush Nikhil N.
