🌿 Workshop on Sustainable Practices and Green Technologies for the Textile Sector On 9 June 2026 in Surat, TERI, Energiva Ventures, the South Gujarat Textile Processors Association (SGTPA), and THE MAN MADE TEXTILES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION SURAT (MANTRA) successfully hosted a high-level awareness workshop dedicated to driving low-carbon growth and resource efficiency across the textile value chain. The event brought together key administrative, industry, and academic stakeholders to discuss actionable decarbonization pathways: ▪️Opening addresses by leadership from TERI, Energiva Ventures, SGTPA, and MANTRA emphasized industrial readiness and the importance of public–private alignment. ▪️Keynote remarks by the General Manager, DIC, Surat, outlined regional regulatory support and facilitation mechanisms for green technology adoption. ▪️The technical session, chaired by Prof. Salim A. Channiwala (Former Director, SVNIT), featured experts from IIT Delhi, CEEW, MANTRA, Vasudha Foundation, and Sunrise CSP, who delivered deep dives into circular economy frameworks, textile waste stream management, energy audits, and industrial heat electrification. Key takeaways from the workshop included collaborative initiatives around energy transitions, circularity initiatives, and support for certification/frameworks to meet export compliance requirements.
