If building trust is at the core of partnership and collective impact, then isn't it a success metric in and of itself? If health outcomes (or education outcomes, or any bottom line) are achieved without community buy-in and participation, is that success? In Episode 3 of this season's "Impact & Innovation" podcast I meet with Adrienne Abbate who manages a collective impact initiative through Partnerships for Community Wellness. Initially aimed at reducing substance use among youth, it has expanded its goals since then, bringing multiple partners across sectors to the table. How do you build consensus, especially during these divided times? Are there ever drawbacks to consensus building, does it ever get in the way, and slow you down? These are some of the questions my students asked Adrienne, which she answers in this podcast.
