Did you know that we eat the equivalent of a credit card every week? šŸ’³ That sounds absurd – but according to WHO estimates, that's roughly how much microplastic the average person consumes. On World Environmental Day the world pauses to reflect on the state of our planet. And there's one invisible threat we can no longer afford to ignore: #Microplastics. šŸŒŽ First identified in the early 2000s, microplastics (particles smaller than 5mm) have since been found in the deepest ocean trenches, in the air we breathe, and yes, in the food on our plates. šŸ½ļø How does it get there? Here are the main ways microplastics enter our #Food: šŸ“¦ Packaging 🌊 Water & soil šŸ³ Cookware What began as a packaging convenience has become one of the most pervasive pollution crises of our time. However, the long-term health effects of microplastics are still not fully understood. What do you do to reduce your plastic consumption for a safer environment? Let us know in the comments!
