How well can we really identify familiar smells? 👃 We thought we would - but it turned out to be more challenging than expected. During a recent sensory testing team event, our colleagues in Berlin worked with aroma sticks featuring 10 distinct smells and tried to identify them. 💡Our learnings: Even familiar and clearly defined smells can be surprisingly difficult to identify accurately under testing conditions. This is exactly why sensory training plays an important role: it helps sharpen olfactory recognition and improves consistency in smell-based evaluation.
