European Chemicals Agency has classified TFA as toxic to reproduction (Category 1B). ⚠️ Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a persistent transformation product of PFAS compounds. Due to its exceptional stability and mobility, it is widely distributed in the environment and can enter the food chain both through industrial emissions and as a degradation product of various plant protection products. As regulatory pressure around PFAS and related substances increases, reliable detection of TFA in drinking water and food is becoming essential. At bilacon - a Tentamus company - we offer precise TFA analysis in food and water samples. 🔬 Our method for food is based on the QuPPe approach of the EU Reference Laboratory for Pesticide Residues, EURL-SRM. For drinking water, we apply DIN 38407-53 using state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS instrumentation to ensure the highest level of analytical performance and data reliability. We analyze food and water matrices with reporting limits of 2 µg/L for water and 40 µg/kg for food. With our expertise in food and water analytics, we help companies reliably detect TFA, assess current contamination levels, and respond to evolving regulatory requirements. 🧪 Our laboratory is ready to support you.
