Over the past four years, more than 87,000 students across 11 countries have built over 287,000 Mini Programs with AI. A hearing aid tool for a father. Mental health apps. Fraud prevention software. Farm tools now used by real farmers in Botswana. Behind these projects is a simple idea: Mini Program education can help students move from learning about technology to building with it. With accessible developer tools, AI support, and classroom resources, students who had never written code before are creating working software for real-world needs. The 4th Weixin Mini Program Global Innovation Challenge, held in May 2026, reflects what happens when young people are given the tools to create rather than just consume.
