Window collisions are one of the most widespread, yet preventable, wildlife threats in modern cities. At Tencent's Headquarters Campus in Shenzhen, we set out to change that. Dachan Bay wetlands sit along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, a major migratory route stretching from the Arctic to Australia. Careful observation identified where collisions were happening and why. Anti-collision dot film was applied to glass, breaking up reflections that birds can't distinguish from the open sky. Nest boxes were installed in surrounding vegetation, with one occupied within 24 hours. Employees, volunteers, and local communities have all played a part. A well-designed building works well for the people inside it, and for the world around it. Read how we're putting that into practice. https://lnkd.in/e42YBe2e #WorldbyDesign #biodiversity #sustainability
