I’ve recently wrapped up my 10-week internship (28 July – 3 October 2025) at Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad, where I was part of the Local Reporting Team under the Actuarial, Valuation and Financial Reporting Department. 🌞 During this period, I primarily worked on the takaful side, with some exposure to conventional business as well. My key responsibilities included assisting in run setting (ensuring updates in Prophet assumption tables are reflected each month), preparing monthly documentation for new product launches and enhancements, performing claim checks to verify policy status, and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) for new products. This experience also allowed me to strengthen my technical proficiency, particularly in Excel, while deepening my understanding of life insurance product structures and specifications. A heartfelt thank you to my manager, Jie Pei Chaw, and seniors Jing Hong Ng and Lee Min Chen, as well as the entire team, for their continuous guidance and support throughout this journey. Also, to my intern buddies Yuan Wen Kuan and Kai Lin, it’s been great working and learning together.
