Welcoming the next generation of Optometrists 👁️✨ This year, we were proud to bring together 65 graduates across Australia and New Zealand at EyeLaunch with the majority stepping into regional and rural communities, where access to quality eyecare makes a meaningful difference every day. EyeLaunch is designed to set a strong foundation as our newest Optometrists begin their 2-year graduate pathway. Across both days, graduates were given the tools and resources to succeed in their early career, including a workshop on communication styles, helping graduates connect confidently with every patient. Graduates heard from Sephora Miao, Eyecare & Medical & Professional Affairs Director, about how our medical innovations are shaping the future of clinical care. Joined by Amy Pillay, Astha Rai, and Naomi Nicolinas, the session showcased how medical excellence underpins everything we do - from the latest clinical evidence on Stellest® 2.0, proven to be 1.88× more effective in slowing myopia progression than Stellest® Gen 1, to evidence-based dry eye treatments with Espansione OPE™ IPL & LM™ LLLT, to wearable technologies like Nuance Audio Glasses that extend beyond vision care to support hearing needs. Together, it highlighted the critical role of innovation, science, research, and education in advancing clinical practice, alongside the evolving technology our optometrists can leverage to deliver the best possible outcomes for patients. Graduates also explored on how they can explore opportunities to amplify their impact through outreach programs with the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. Just last month, the foundation celebrated a milestone, delivering its 100 millionth pair of spectacles to communities in need across the globe! We were fortunate to hear from senior leaders Michele Ginocchietti, Elizabeth Kodari, Maria Alsina and Nicolas Delzongle, who shared their insights, vision, and passion for the opportunities ahead. Their perspectives reinforced the potential for growth, impact, and excellence as our graduates embark on their careers. And, of course, no EyeLaunch would be complete without a little competition - a trivia night hosted by our Professional Services Managers gave graduates the chance to unwind, connect, and celebrate their learnings in a relaxed and fun setting. This is just the beginning.
